I purchased a sixer of Eel River Pale Ale at Homsie's the other day.
My son-in-law gave me a Boonville beer glass last year.
I thought: Why not combine the two?
What a beautiful photo.
Just think...in about 70 days I can do them both fresh, with oysters...

Whoohoo! 70 days! Can't wait. For those that don't know, Eel River Brewery is my all-time favorite microbrewery, after Front Porch Brewery that is. Hence, the glass we gave FP brewer. And they make my all time favorite micro-brew, the Organic Extra Pale Ale, after FPB's Front Porch Wheat that is. Well one of our favorite bar's in the area used to always have the Eel River EPA on tap which became a tradition for me (always ordered with a bag of Sea Salt & Vinegar Kettle chips and don't forget to turn off your cell phone or buy a round!!), until a recent visit in which the bartender (the 70+ yr old wife of the original owner who is now deceased) had crossed it off the chalkboard (Gasp!!) and then proceeded to inform us it was no longer available for them. This was a shocking weekend for us at said bar because it was the same weekend our favorite hot dog man fell off the back of a truck and was not in the parking lot making cajun dogs that we specifically came for. But that's another story. Back to the beer. She suspected it had been discontinued. I refused to believe such heresy unless straight from the source, which in all my horror, came this weekend when BV and I made a personal trek north to visit Eel River Brewing Company (and partake of some hop/barley fed angus beef burgers!). Some hoopla about moving brewing facilities, water being different, too much like the California blonde ale, yada, yada, yada I say! So the rumor is true. Eel River Organic Extra Pale Ale is on its way out. So if you find it around, be sure to stock up. We did at the brewery since it was the six-pack of the month at $5.99. According to FP brewer, at $5/ounce for hops, that was quite a steal. So we bought two. One six pack for now, and one for October.

See if you can get the inside scoop on their recipe, or at least what variety of hops they use. Perhaps we can bring it back to life on the Front Porch.
